PredsFan ("we," "us," or "our") operates predsfan.com (the "Site") and the PredsFan mobile app for iPhone and Android (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our app. Section 8 covers the app specifically.

NHL API

We retrieve official NHL statistics and data from the NHL's public API. This data is used to display live scores, player stats, and team information.

This policy also covers the PredsFan app for iPhone and Android. The app is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Nashville Predators or the National Hockey League.

What the app sends us

If a screen in the app fails to load, the app sends us a diagnostic report so the problem can be fixed. It contains the technical error, which screen it happened on, the app version, and your device’s operating system version. It contains no name, email address, account, advertising identifier, or any other identifier for you or your device, and we do not create one. We cannot tell two reports from the same phone apart, and that is deliberate.

Otherwise the app makes ordinary requests to predsfan.com for schedules, scores, rosters, standings and articles, to the NHL’s public statistics service (api.nhle.com) for team and league statistics, and to YouTube for video listings. These are ordinary requests for public information and carry nothing about you, but the NHL and YouTube are separate companies and will see your device’s IP address, as any website you visit does. We have no control over what they do with it.

What stays on your phone

Game reminders are scheduled by your phone’s own operating system from the schedule the app has already downloaded — we are not told which reminders you set, or that you set any. Your theme, your followed players, and the offline copy of content you have viewed are all stored on your device only.

What the app does not do

The app has no accounts and no sign-in. It contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking software. It does not request access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.

Notifications

Game reminders are scheduled entirely on your device. If push notifications are offered in the future, this policy will be updated before they are enabled.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
